Tournament Details
The Mike Suys Boys Invitational Tournament (MSBI), formerly the Gloucester Wolverines Boys Invitational, is now in its second year after being renamed in the memory of Michel “Mike” Suys. In 1981, Mike Suys started the Gloucester Basketball Association (GBA), which later became the GCBA. The first invitational tournament hosted by the GBA was in 1985. Through the 1980s, Mike continued to build the boys’ competitive program. He turned his focus on managing the boys’ league and tournaments.
This annual tournament is sanctioned by the Ontario Basketball Association and is regarded as a premier event in the basketball community. It continues to contribute to the enjoyment of the game and proceeds support GCBA Benevolent Funding.
