history
It is with deep sadness and an ever abiding debt of gratitude for her enthusiastic, dedicated and prolific volunteer service to the GCBA and its members, that we acknowledge the loss of our very dear friend, ardent supporter, and volunteer extraordinaire; Pamela Quinn.
As a long serving volunteer supporter of all GCBA programs; a former House League Convener, Tournament Director, VP Competitive, and Executive secretary, Pam will be remembered as a woman of vision, compassion, and selfless service. She was an energetic, thought-provoking and knowledgeable policy maker, with extraordinary organizational and interpersonal skills, but above all, she was a truly gifted communicator whose love for the game of basketball and heartfelt mentoring of hundreds of volunteers, over many years, allowed countless youth within our community to realize their personal "hoop" dreams and guide these into fruition.
It was Pams fervent wish that we continue to encourage and support all young athletes who dream the dream of playing basketball one day and to assist them in this goal by all means possible. To this end, the GCBA is pleased to recognize her efforts in this regards with the establishment of a perpetual Benevolent Fund named in her honour. Donations to this fund will be used to subsidize the fees and other playing expenses for players in need.
